SafeWorkBC’s Policy, Regulation and Research Department is requesting feedback on proposed amendments to Part 4, General Conditions, sections 4.24 to 4.31.2 — Harassment and Violence, of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) adds three sites to the General Superfund section of the National Priorities List (NPL). The Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (“CERCLA” or “the Act”), as amended, requires that the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan (“NCP”) include a list of national priorities among the known releases or threatened releases of hazardous substances, pollutants or contaminants throughout the United States. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has received proposals from member states to add six substances to the list of substances of very high concern (SVHC). The list include dibutyl phthalate. Safety Share Employers must ensure that a machine or equipment has a properly identified, lockable means of isolating the energy source, in a location familiar to all employees. The employer shall also provide a safety lock and key to employees who may have to lock out a machine or equipment. Have an event you would like to share?
