This summer Transport Canada will publish a report summarizing findings and recommendations on proposed amendments to the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations. We recommend that you work closely with a competent customs broker as there are some interesting restrictions on foods from Canada to the US that contain more than 10% sugar.
The annual awards recognize outstanding workplace safety practices in the province. WorkSafe Saskatchewan is a partnership between the Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) and the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety. The regulation requires the owner or operator of a stationary source to report any accidental release resulting in a fatality, serious injury, or substantial property damages. The purpose of this part is to require prompt notification of any accidental release within the Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board’s (CSB’s) investigatory jurisdiction. The FDA amended its food additive regulations to no longer provide for most phthalates to be used in food contact applications because these uses have been abandoned by industry. The FDA announced proposed regulations that would establish certification regulations for certain medical gases and amend the requirements for current good manufacturing practice (CGMP), postmarketing safety reporting, and labeling. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the availability of a draft guidance aimed at increasing the amount of safety information the agency has about the dietary supplement marketplace by providing the industry an opportunity to submit late new dietary ingredient (NDI) notifications. When finalized, the draft guidance will outline the FDA’s intent to exercise enforcement discretion, for a limited time and in limited circumstances, to encourage manufacturers and distributors to correct any past failures to submit a required NDI notification. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) have launched a consultation on 13 applications for authorisation covering 16 uses of: chromium trioxide (EC 215-607-8, CAS 1333-82-0) used for etching and electroplating of plastics, in functional chrome plating, and in decorative/functional plating; and trixylyl phosphate (EC 246-677-8, CAS 25155-23-1) used in closed systems as a hydraulic fluid. In a slightly delayed celebration of its 125thanniversary, the National Fire Protection Association®(NFPA®) will return to an in-person event for its annual Conference & Expo (C&E) at the Boston Convention Center in Boston, Mass., June 6-9, 2022.
