Transporting live loads can affect a vehicle’s handling and stability and put workers at risk. A live load is one in which a tank contains a liquid such as water, oil, or milk that can slosh around during transport. Employers are responsible for investigating certain incidents or near-misses that take place in the workplace and submitting an investigation report to WorkSafeBC. These investigations help employers and WorkSafeBC determine why an incident happened and what can be done to prevent similar situations in the future. Starting May 1, 2022 the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development begins it annual health and safety inspection blitz. Inspections also take place to check that employers across the province are upholding employment standards.
